Oops...Jeffrey and Macy were putting dishes away tonight (well, they were playing while putting dishes away) and broke the connection between two cupboard doors off. I've been wanting to remodel my kitchen for awhile...does this give me enough of an excuse? I'm not so sure.

Seriously, can you believe he is in Kindergarten already? No tears from Mama. How could I when he was so excited!

08.23.2011
My pumpkins are growing like crazy. I bet I'll have over 20 pumpkins by the time Halloween comes around!
08.22.2011
Macy let me put her hair in twisty pig-tails on the topo f her head today. When she took the pig-tails out, she was giggling like crazy at the sight of her hair!

"After"
I should include a picture of it hung on the wall in my classroom because it looks much cuter there than in the harsh sun on my porch.
08.20.2011
Jeffrey found this spider web while we were on a hike at Lewis and Clark State Park today. You can barely make out the spider in the hole in the tree.

08.19.2011
Two thoughts:
1. Kids are tough. It was only 67 degrees out today, but the kids insisted on playing in the lake.
2. I love the days they are best friends.
08.18.2011
I shopped for a long time last winter for this Epiphanie bag. I resisted and resisted because of the price, but finally Tyler convinced me that I really should get it because I needed to protect my camera. (Lucky for me they were back ordered for months and didn't arrive on time and I received a nice discount!) I must say that after using it for nearly five months now, it has been worth every penny.
08.17.2011
We are busy getting ready for Kindergarten. Jeffrey has his backpack packed and mommy is busy working on ironing all of Jeffrey's clothes. That way, at least they aren't wrinkly the first time he wears them this school year.
08.16.2011
These two rigs next to each other has been quite a sight for the last few weeks. They are on different sections so will be pumping from different areas, but happened to go up at the same time (from different companies). I couldn't resist trying a shot on the way home from work with the full moon right there next to them.
-Side note: A few days later I saw a Texas truck pulled over along side the road and all four men in the truck were taking cell phone pictures so apparently I wasn't the only one who thought it was interesting to see.
08.15.2011
Not only do I love these two because they are great friends, but also becaue they never complain about me wanting to take pictures of them together.
08.11.2011
I stood outside in the bugs and wind for nearly 20 minutes and probably took 200 pictures to capture just about six with lightning in them. Too bad I didn't spend the time to get my tripod and remote timer so that it wouldn't be so blurry.
08.10.2011
This is my hollyhock that I planted this year. The flower is definitely not what I was expecting, but I think they are pretty anyway.
08.09.2011
We drove through Grand Forks on the way home from Minneapolis so that we could see our good friend Scoot and his family. This is Maya...the last time we saw her she was just a few months old. It took her a little while to warm up, but when she did we had fun!
08.07.2011
So...lets tell you how all of these little ones are related. You take my kids' great-grandpa Duane and the rest of the kids' grandpa Donny and those two are brothers. That makes my mom and their moms first cousins. Which would make me second cousins with their moms and my kids third cousins with their moms??? Would that make them fourth cousins? Who knows? At any rate...they are distant cousins and because I love family and family history, I plan to make sure that they get to see each other every couple years as they grow up.
08.05.2011
Five years ago to the month Tyler, Jeffrey and I went to a Twins vs White Sox game. I wore a White Sox shirt to that game. Now, I'm all Twins...go figure. No worries, though, you'll never see me at a Vikings vs Bears game in a Vikings jersey. It's completely different.

08.04.2011 - number 2...I like both pictures of the groups :)
All of us in Detroit Lakes. It was good timing for our vacation to the Cities because we got to see Derek and his kids along the way.
(I'm going to have to check my dates when I get to the computer again. I see I have two August 4ths.)
08.04.2011
We were on our way to Minneapolis for our family vacation. We stopped and spent the night in Detroit Lakes along the way and were lucky to get to see my Auntie Bon and Uncle Lefty and three of their grandsons, Julie and her kids, and Lora. It was an awesome night!
08.02.2011
All Jeffrey wants to do lately is go out and help Papa Dale work. As they both say, "It's time to work, work, work."
sooc (I switched to b/w mode)
08.01.2011
Another day where I almost forgot to take a picture...lucky for me there was a rainbow that evening because the kids were already sleeping and I've pretty much photographed everything inside my house that I can think of.
07.31.2011
Jeffrey and Tyler found 3 tiny little kittens inside the engine area of a tractor that they needed to use to move pipe today. Because the mother cat is wild (no one lives where the tractors are stored), they decided to bring the kittens home and try to save them. This is Macy's kitten, properly named Kitten. We weren't sure if she was going to make it and Jeffrey was having a pretty hard time with that so he decided to take a picture of her so that he would never forget her.
07.30.2011
Heidi was one of my very favorite books to read growing up. This one is actually my Auntie Karlyn's book from when she was young. Karlyn Ulrich age 12 is signed on the first page. I should have taken a picture of the signature too as it is just as special as the book.
(Jordyn, if you are interested in the book, I would love to mail it to you.)
07.29.2011
We drove to Sidney to have supper with our friends Luke and Tracy tonight. A storm had just passed through as we were on our way home. There was a beautiful double rainbow out, but I could only get part of it...at 65 mph going across the bridge.
07.27.2011
Day Two at the Lake
The kids spent a lot of time playing in the water and with the rocks and logs while I spent some time reading book one, Leaving, of the Bailey Flannigan series by Karen Kingsbury.
07.26.2011
We rented the lake cabin today and tomorrow and for some reason, nobody could meet us there. I thought I'd wind up lonely, but the kids and I really enjoyed just playing together. Because it was the middle of the week, we basically had the beach to ourselves. After Tyler got off work, we went over to Red Mike's driving range and each hit a bucket of balls. It was a fun day!

07.24.2011
While at Jenna's, we took a Sunday drive on the Bear Tooth Highway from Red Lodge to Cook City. It was beautiful scenery and it was fun to be able to stop whenever we wanted to explore and take pictures.
07.22.2011
Auntie Jen Jen is letting her neighbor put horses in her pasture this summer and each evening the horses come over right over to her yard and enjoy a little attention.
07.21.2011
We made it to Billings today and both the kids were soooo excited to see Auntie Jen Jen and Jefferson. It seems like Macy is always willing to take super cute pictures with Auntie...she must love her so much!
07.18.2011
I feel bad that after a long days work, Tyler still has to come home and mow the lawn. I try to mow sometimes, but most of the time I wind up sneezing, stuffy nosed, congetsted, and just plain miserable for days afterward. I'm thinking that next summer I might see an alergy specialist so that I can get on some decent medicine so that I can be more help outside.
