This was quite the day. We left Fairview for Billings on Sunday, more than excited to be heading to Florida the next morning. Well, Minneapolis had their 6th worst storm ever on Sunday and by the time we were going to bed on Sunday night, our connection flight to Minneapolis was canceled. We got nowhere on the phone talking to people from Delta, so headed to the airport at 5:00 am Monday to figure out what to do.
If we wanted to keep our connection to Minneapolis, we could fly out Wednesday evening. That would mean one day in Florida, so we opted for the Tuesday evening flight to Salt Lake City, Utah, a five hour layover there, the red-eye flight to Atlanta, GA and an early Wednesday morning flight to Miami. Through all of this, we maintained our smiles and left the airport for a couple free days in Billings. It wasn't quite the same as being in Miami, but as we kept telling ourselves, "It's all part of the adventure."
